Print Size & DPI Calculator
Before you design or send a file to print, check the resolution. Enter a print size in inches, cm, mm or feet to see the pixels you need at any DPI – or enter an image’s pixels to see how large it can print sharply. Presets cover photo prints, A-sizes, visiting cards, posters, standees, flex banners and hoardings, with DPI guidance for each.

Frequently asked questions
What DPI do I need for printing?
300 DPI for photos, visiting cards and brochures; 150–200 DPI for posters; 100 DPI for standees; 72 DPI or less for flex banners and hoardings viewed from a distance.
How many pixels for an A4 print at 300 DPI?
2480 × 3508 pixels.
What resolution for a 3 × 6 ft flex banner?
At 72 DPI you need 2592 × 5184 pixels. Flex is viewed from a distance, so 72 DPI prints clearly.
Does changing DPI in Photoshop improve quality?
No. Quality depends on the pixel count. Changing DPI without resampling only changes the print size.
